Short biography

My name is Falu Hong (洪发路). I am a Ph.D. candidate at Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, University of Connecticut (UConn), working at Global Environmental Remote Sensing Laboratory (GERS lab) led by Dr. Zhe Zhu.

My research focuses on using satellite observations (remote sensing) to monitor and model the Earth’s land surface dynamics, such as deforestation and urbanization. You can check the Research page for more details.

Before joining the GERS lab, I worked with Dr. Wenfeng Zhan and majored in the theory and application of thermal remote sensing, focusing on the annual and diurnal land surface temperature dynamics, as well as the urban heat island analysis.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, badminton and hiking.
